As the new year dawned, I walked the labyrinth in gratitude for the future. I entered with an open mind, body, and spirit, ready to receive the gifts, blessings, and lessons that awaited me in the coming year.
A labyrinth is a single winding path that leads to a central point, often used for walking meditation. Unlike a maze, which is designed to confuse, a labyrinth has no dead ends or tricks. The process of walking the labyrinth involves following the path to the center and then returning along the same route. This journey is symbolic of our own life path, filled with twists and turns yet always moving forward. Walking the labyrinth can provide clarity, focus, and a deep sense of peace.
Upon reaching the center, I stood in prayer, my head bowed and eyes closed. My cat, one of four, brushed against my legs, grounding me in the present moment. This simple gesture reminded me of past meditations where I’ve encountered a portal at the labyrinth’s center. Through this portal, I’ve connected and communicated with spirit guides, otherworldly beings, and energies. Though I don’t fully understand how or why this portal exists, I treat it with respect and humility. It doesn’t activate every time I walk the labyrinth—I believe it’s activated by Spirit’s will when I’m in need of insight. Perhaps in time, I will understand how to activate it at will, but for now, I’m grateful for the lessons and insights it gifts me at Spirit’s will.
Today, as I quieted my mind, an angelic guardian brought forth Hawk, one of my guardians and spirit guides. Hawk is a spirit animal that offers profound wisdom and insight.
Hawk teaches the medicine of vision and insight, urging us to look beyond the surface and see the bigger picture. With keen observation and clarity, Hawk encourages us to trust our intuition and seek the truth in all situations. Hawk’s lesson is one of empowerment, guiding us to rise above challenges and view life from a higher perspective. By embodying Hawk’s spirit, we can navigate the complexities of our journey with grace and strength.
As I reflected on Hawk’s presence, I felt a deep sense of peace and purpose. The labyrinth walk, combined with the guidance of my spirit animal, left me feeling rejuvenated and ready to embrace the new year with excitement, hope, and immense gratitude for the journey ahead.
